On March 30, the Minister of Foreign Relations, Antonio Patriota, will attend the Commission of Foreign Relations and National Defense of the Senate, to explain the positioning of Brazil in the Libyan conflict.

Last Thursday, the collegiate approved of a motion of solidarity to the positioning of Brazil of looking for an immediate cease-fire in Libya.

Last week, Brazil abstained, together with Germany, China and Russia, in the voting of a resolution of the UN Security Council so that there was a military intervention in that country.

The senators decided still to support the efforts for a pacific resolution of the conflict through negotiations that involve the UNO and the Organization of the African Unity (OAU).

The Minister of Foreign Relations accepted to attend the Commission to discuss the crisis in the north of Africa and Middle East and will return on May 19 to speak about the directives of the foreign politics of the government Dilma Rousseff.

Also the Commission of Foreign Relations of the Chamber of Deputies approved a request inviting the Minister to speak on these subjects and the deportation of Brazilian citizens from Spain.
